The New York Public Library is a Terrific Place to Attend Free Workshops
We the curators of this list are from Lights Camera Read and DigiComArts Workshops as well as the Platinum PIAs Community Awards Show for Artisticpreneurs. And since we’ve held media workhops for teens and young adults at the New York Public Library we’d be remiss if we were not to talk about the amazing NYC workshops and classes that are available at the NYPL. The New York Public Library offers more than 93,000 programs annually, serving everyone from toddlers to teens to seniors. All workshops and classes are free unless otherwise noted. Classes and workshops include English Classes, TechConnect Classes, Book Discussions and Celeste Bartos Education Center Services.
Workshops at DCTV Where the Platinum PIAs Were Held Two Years in a Row
The curators of this list held the Platinum PIAs two years in a row at the Downtown Community Television Center also known at DCTV and have used them as an educational and media resource for years. DCTV says that their NYC workshops provide people from all walks of life access to the skills they need to make media and tell their story. NYC Human Rights Workshops
The New York City Commission on Human Rights also known as NYCCHR works with organizations to provide free workshops and trainings to educate staff and community members about their rights and obligations under the law. The workshops are offered quarterly or on demand and include topics such as NYC Human Rights Law, working with Transgender Persons, Discrimination in Housing, Protections for Persons with Disabilities and more.
